Time setting.......

What time period does this game concern itself with? I'm seriously considering buying the entire line now that I've been forced to watch the show, and totally fell in love! I have not read the books yet, and Im not sure I will because I kind of want to be surprised by the show.

So please fill me in :)

I think maybe I shouldn’t have wrote this the moment I came out of bed lol. Sorry for the double post. I meant what part of the novels is the game focused in? Or is it really open?

The game is written from a point right before the novels begin, although it does occasionally discuss some of the events that happen in the novels, though usually from a historical perspective. (In other words, it may discuss things, individuals or places that you don't see until much further into the series - Dorne, for instance, or wildling culture).

Best of luck digitalsith, I am running my first game soon as well, the system looks awesome so far and have some really interesting characters so it should be good fun and doesn't look too difficult to run :)

Hey, you should be warned: Page 195 of the Core Book contains a MAJOR Spoiler for Season 3 of the show.

LOL I'll keep that in mind! I just ordered the pocket addition (I heard it had the errata) today. I'm not worried about the core book spoiling it, I'm worried about me reading all the novels lol.

The novels are huge but they flow pretty good. I love them individually but it breaks my heart to maybe not get the end to some of the stories that have been ongoing. At least I read them all in the last year and haven't been waiting the better part of a decade for the conclusion like some people.... :)

It'll be almost impossible not to find a spoiler or two while reading the RPG book though.

Indeed, yet I believe that the one I mentioned earlier is easily one of the 'Top 3 Worst Things To Get Spoiled' in all the books so far...

I’m torn! I'm flying through the 1st novel now (and it's surprising that the show is as accurate as it is), waiting on the pocket edition of the core book, and debating weather I say screw it and keep reading these awesome novels or not lol. Maybe I'll wait the second season is starting next month. :D
