Teasers?

Postby ChopSockey » Wed Mar 05, 2008 1:21 pm

So we know that playtesting is happening now and the game will be released in the Fall... So when do we start to get some teasers?

And an aside, can any playtesters say anything about how the game compares to Reign as far as handling large organizations? (While I like Reign a lot, I find the ORE unintuitive personally, and might be interested in an alternative...)

Teasers? News? Info? Benn awhile since I've seen a new post...

I must admit that I am not familiar with "Reign".

Can you specify your question and I will do my best to answer without violating NDA?

Playtesting is done and the Book is off to the Devolpers and Editors.

Well Reign is a fantasy RPG by Greg Stolze using the One Roll Engine (like Godlike and Wild Talents) with rules specifically for modeling organizations of varius sizes.

I'd specifically be interested in the "core mechanic, " and how the dice are rolled and read.

If you go through the "Still no News" Thread I have posted some infos on all Chapters that will be in the book.

As I am under NDA I am not allowed to disclose the mechanics of the game. And I do not know the games you referred to above.

The ASOIF Book has one chapter devoted to creating noble houses (which might equal the organisations you refer to). The mechanics are the skeleton that carries the flesh an blood that is the roleplaying aspect of it all. What I mean is: how the players and the DM play the house is far more inportant than the statistics. But to be able to measure success (or defeat) in the game of thrones, you have to have some solid rules.

I simply love the new game. It is designed to fit perfectly in GRR Martins world. But you can port it over and use it for every Grim and Gritty setting you want to play eg. Real World Middle Ages or Arthurian Mythos needs almost ot tweaking by the DM.

What I've read in the "Still No News" thread is very promising. I also like what you said about using it for a King Arthur game. That's sort of what I had in mind (if King Arthur was Persian that is...)

I'm hoping for some more official news and teasers soon. Thanks for the info, though.
