From what I gather, the original Dragonfist RPG was a free downloadable PDF. Does anyone know where I can find this game?

The keyword is "was." It WAS available for download on TSR/WotC web site but Chris Pramas was able to get it back (brand and all) from them. Now it's up to Chris and Green Ronin to release it ... and soon.

Your other [questionable] option is to find someone who knows who has it, but you're gonna have to be discreet.
