Reference List of DA adventures

Postby Zapp » Thu Feb 16, 2012 9:16 am

I browsed http://greenronin.com/dragon_age/ but couldn't find a quick overview of adventures available for the game.

So I decided I should start one - feel free to suggest additions and corrections. I also thought it would be valuable to link to fan-made adventures, since the list would be so short otherwise.

Official Campaigns
none

Official Adventures
An Arl's Ransom - the free Quick Start Guide
The players are to escort a nobleman's children (introductory adventure).

A Dalish Curse - Games Master's Guide (Box Set 1)
Something threatens the village of Vintiver (introductory adventure).

A Bann Too Many - Game Master's Kit
The players are asked to stop a bandit threat (a good follow-up to Dalish Curse).

Amber Rage - Blood in Ferelden
A disease is turning local villagers into mindless savages (level 1-2)

Where Eagles Lair - Blood in Ferelden
Chasing the kidnappers of a nobleman's daughter brings the players to the Frostback Mountains (level 3-4)

A Fragile Web - Blood in Ferelden
Intrigue and politics in Denerim (level 4-5)

The Autumn Falls - Games Master's Guide (Box Set 2)
Try your luck in the Grand Tourney of the Free Marches’ legendary Contest of Arms (level 5-7)

There is a subset of fan created adventures on Jekias' GM page
http://www.users.on.net/~jekias/GM.htm

Also, the Oleander Maw was redone with a newer layout and was announced on the Dragon Age Oracle blog last year, although there are 2 links on Jekias' page as well.

In a Fragile Web, it actually states a better order is to begin with chantry of the stilled tongue, let players gain bann Nicosia as a backer, and then go from there.

Vintiver is the home base for my party. They've actually taken over the old Fuldor Farm and are building a new manor on the property. So it'd be cool to have high-res maps for that area.

Some key points of our story also happen in the deep roads below the Lost Keep, so it might be cool to have a map of the exterior there too.

I am by no means a pro or anything, But here is the fuldor Farm map. I have two versions, one with the buildings and one without, Both currently have no trees on them (I forgots them) but are rather large and good for VTT game play.
I also have the map mentioned in the quickstart Guide and it may be huge as I was a moron and set the DPI to 300 rather than 150.

How hard is it (i know very little about image editing) would it be to put a scale grid on that for use with 28mm figures?

Not hard, I just have to figure out the scale for the map compared to the figure. I should have those by tomarrowish?

Edit: What scale would you want it in? 1 square =2 yards? 1 yard?

Also Vintiver map:http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t153/Spazthoma_2007/Dragon%20age%20maps/?action=view&current=VintiverHiRes.png

Again these maps are huge (Vintiver map is like 13 mb.)

Wooh! Now they're working. No idea what was wrong before. It was like I was just getting thumbnails with no option to enlarge. Weird.

As always, feel free to correct any errors.

Given that the three adventures from Blood in Ferelden can be ran as a single campaign with an overarching story arc you might want to include BIF as an official campaign too.

It isn't marketed as one.

(And I am glad it isn't, since for me a campaign means more than a string of loosely connected adventures. When you or I run a bunch of adventures using the same PCs for the same ruleset that is commonly called a "campaign", but for me one defining characteristic of a professional commercial adventure campaign is that its chapters should not be stand-alone.

They might be adventure-length, but there should be some degree of difficulty running them separate from the rest or there is nothing to indicate that they are integrated into a greater whole. Btw, that is why a campaign should not be written by several authors working in parallel - or by authors that aren't even aware it is part of a campaign they're writing...

But I digress.)

An example of a true campaign would be Savage Tidings for 3.5 12 chapters which can be run as a single adventure or all together. I have run up to chapter 5 on this.
