But only some of the time will number you roll succeed. Like if you roll double 1's and a 3 and get a total of 5.

Actually, the probabilities of rolling doubles or better (triples) is 44.4%.

Easier way to calculate it: How big is the chances that all three dices are different?

(roll the first dice. The second has 5/6 to get a different result. The third has 4/6 to get another result)

--> 1 * 5/6 * 4/6 = 55.6%

Chances that this isn't so:

--> 1 - 55.6% = 44.4%

I was googling 3d6 and found this game of chance called Cee-lo here is a link to wikipedia about it.

I know it has nothing to do with this topic, but I thought I might be cool to include this as a popular game to be played in the setting at bars and taverns, since you know it uses the 3d6 that are right in front of you. Maybe I will make this the official craps game of my Dragon Age game.
