I'm in the same boat, got a party of players waiting to level up and just waiting on 3rd. Ever see a qunari cry? Not pretty at all.

I don't mind the delay, but a post from Will saying 'hey folks it'll be out on feb 14th' is preferable to a silence that a fan community fills with speculation and remorse...

Yeah but they already did that with "Hey folks the game will be out before the end of January" and we were left disappointed.

I really want it but I think now I'd prefer just to have the surprise (and joy) of waking up and seeing on the forums that the beta has been released.

True, but in the absence of any word from GR, that wait could extend into weeks, months...?

This is the problem with setting deadlines. If you miss them then you have the option of trying to update that and risk missing again, or you can buckle down, get the work done, and ask for forgiveness after. OTOH you can not set a deadline and people will complain about an "indefinite" wait or grip about not hearing any news about the product (if you don't even say that its coming "soon"). Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

It's easier to ask Forgiveness than Permission ;-)

You know, Green Ronin doesn't have to let us in on this playtesting thing. It's cool that they are doing so. Things happen sometimes. I am happy to wait (yes, I am waiting anxiously, but I'll still wait) for the manuscript to come out and then playtest the heck out it :)

Every time GR mentions a deadline now, this is how I feel:

Image

It happened with Set 1, happened with Set 2 and Set 3 will be late. Despite the fact I pre-ordered my Set 2, it arrived 2 months late. So just sit back and relax; we'll get it when we get it. All the forum rage won't help. just accept that until you hold the product in your hands, there can and will be some event that will get in your way.

That being said, it'd be nice if the release dates were met.

Has there been a release date to which they might try and adhere? If Mutants & Masterminds/DC Adventures is any indication Green Ronin usually doesn't promise dates more than a week in advance.

Nope, they've never promised a date. Only said that they hoped to have the playtest out in January.
