Add your Random Conspiracy Theories

Just for funsies.

The thought I had the other day: the Maker is real, but he's actually Fen'Harel playing the biggest prank in history. Seeing as how he was the only elven god left and trapped the others, it would leave him with the capability to extert his influence everywhere (starting from the premise that the elven legends are true of course). He's also very Loki-esque and how sweet would it be to delude an entire group of people into believing a lie?

One I came up with a while ago was that the darkspawn were invented by the dwarves. Dwarves have used lyrium to make brontos and even giant spiders (to get rid of bat infestations if you believe it or not). The deep roads are extremely extensive, moreso than you'd imagine could be constructed by the dwarves alone. There were also ancient dwarves (as per DA2) that had gods, used red krypton...er lyrium and lived even deeper.

So this theory goes that the shaperate developed a servitor race, flesh golems if you will. They perhaps used dwarven criminals and casteless, maybe even stole humans and elves. They mutated them with lyrium and used the song of the lyrium as a 'control rod'. Those in charge used these slave proto-darkspawn to toil in the darkness, digging out the deep roads, mining etc. Perhaps they kept them hidden away from the rest of the populace as they thought many might find it distasteful at the least. Maybe this is why the dwarves had relationships with the Tevinter, buying slaves in exchange for lyrium.

Anyway, the super secret shaper police that carried the control rods of lyrium to direct the darkspawn were digging away one day when they broke into the sleeping chamber of an old god and the magically tainted darkspawn 'irradiated' the old god and the old god's song interferred with the lyrium song used to control the darkspawn. They then went a-rampaging, killing all those dwarves that knew of their creation and thus leaving the rest of the dwarven realm unprepared for their attack.

So, what theories etc do you have percolating? Even if slightly ridiculous. Don't take this thread too seriously.

A list of theories I have:

1. Flemeth is a reincarnation of an Old God (probably Dumat)
2. Flemeth is Fen'Harel
3. The Maker exists and will be a "big bad"
4. Sandal is a dwarven mage
5. Sandal is a failed/warped reincarnation
6. Blood magic is what caused the elves' shortened lifespan
7. Andraste is a blood mage/dreamer

It has been said by madmen in those mage towers that the world of Thedas is actually round instead of its sacred dice (six sided) shape. What utter nonsense. Next those so called scholars will say that the moon influence the tides. The fools.
It all comes down to blood and choice.

"There are more than seven Old Gods and not all of them are from of the Tevinter Imperium.

Legends tell of The Black City itself was cast out of the Fade by The Maker once it became tainted with sin and sank beneath the oceans. The City, named Ry'leh is now the dwelling place of the sleeping Old God, Cthulhu the Archdemon who will awake when the stars are right.

The final Blight will come from the seas not the Deep Roads and even the so called Gray Wardens cannot breath underwater.

Maker help you all."

I think Flemeth is one of elven gods, probably the Dread Wolf.
The Maker is probably not a singular entity, but instead the Forbidden Ones barely mentioned in elven mythology sealed away by Fen'Harel for their arrogance.
But I think we should take the myths with a grain of salt: everything we've seen in the first two games suggests that the history of men (especially the Tevinter Imperium), elves, and the dwarves is not as 100% accurate as they think it is, with hints like the primevil thaig in DA2 not following any proper dwarven customs, and the elven ruins in the Brecellian having Tevinter markings despite elves and men having never coexisted as far as we're told.
Also, the Brecellian ruins have one other interesting thing: evidence of darkspawn over a thousand years before they showed up. No matter what level you are when you go there, many of the corpses have darkspawn weapons. Though it's easy to overlook this, this might be done one purpose, as a hint to what destroyed that place long ago.
The Illuvian mirror was also Tainted somehow, despite no darkspawn or Tainted creatures being around to do such a thing....so why exactly is that?
