another fix... I was making a circle mage and when selecting constitution as a secondary ability it would not calculate on the attributes table.

I was about to say that I couldn't figure out what the problem was...then I realised the issue and facepalmed myself.

I'll upload the correction when I've finished implementing another error/oversight: the sheet doesn't properly calculate damage for weapons you're not trained in (it adds full STR, not half).

Link to v1.17 added to the OP of this thread.

In this update:
* corrected bug which did not allow Constitution to be advanced from levelling
* added mechanism to indicate that Half damage applies when using weapons the character is not trained in

Sync, I was thinking of a way to expand the functionality of the spreadsheet: and multiple outputs. What I mean by that is in addition to your 3-page character sheet offer a combat card and statblock option as well. You have all the data, it's just a matter of formatting the output.

Thoughts?

Hmmm...no reason I can't put it into a later update, I s'pose.

Lemme have a play with it.

Thanks for considering it. My thought was something that could be printed off and handed to the GM much like the downloadable Quick Reference Sheet and Combat cards. That way, when a player makes updated to their character in the spreadsheet they can then print of updated Reference and Combat stats for the GM. Easy Peasy.

Okay...version 1.20 uploaded.

In this version:
* Combat Card and Quick Reference versions of the character sheet;
* added the Initiative roll to the Primary character sheet.

Note that this version is mechanically identical to the previous version, so if you don't want to help your GM out by having the short version of your character handy for him/her to refer to, keep using v1.17 ;)

I've left the link for v1.17 in place in the OP of this thread, and added the link for v1.20 below it.

Sync, just downloaded 1.20. I can't seem get to anything. I'm running Excel 2010 and it is showing in compatibility mode which is the same as 1.17. Both show the pages as protected.

The main issue is the workbook is not maximized within the Excel window. In this state the tabs for each sheet are below the viewable area in Excel with no way to scroll down, move or maximize the workbook; I'm stuck on the disclaimer page.

Yeah...my bad. Oops.

I was fiddling with file protection and selected "Protection for Windows" when protecting the workbook...

Try the new version I've provided the link for. It works better here. >.>

There's always something, isn't there...? ;)

Fixed and new link posted for v1.20.

//EDIT: this reported issue also exists in v1.17, so it's probably something that's existed since I first added that feature, and no-one noticed until now. No point in fixing the issue in v1.17 as, if you're playing a warrior, you'll need to re-download the file anyway...may as well get v1.20 where it's been fixed. :)

NOTE TO SELF: got to start doing more testing in the locked-down version before I upload it... 8)

It is part of the reality of software development. You can't get away from bugs. Like Art, a program is never really finished you just stop working on it.

I appreciate your willingness to tackle these bug fixes. Thanks for all your hard work.

Just to follow up, I downloaded the latest version and had no problem interacting with it. I like the extra character sheet you added to print for the GM. Very nice work.

Thanks again.

Welcome...and thank you. ;)

Hopefully the sheet is bug-free by now.

I'll make whatever updates are necesary when I get my hands on Box Set 2.

After that it will be preparing for Box Set 3 & 4... :)

Everything seems to be working fine. I've built all my player's characters in the Forge, leveled them up a few times based on my players' intended level ups, and made a few sample NPC's just for good measure, and I haven't detected any new bugs. I'm enjoying the program, and as a GM, I find the quick reference sheets at the end to be tremendously helpful.
Is there a way to open multiple characters at the same time? I can't save yet, but I would love to be able to keep the reference sheets open in-game so I don't have to keep asking my players for stats and defenses and such.

Heh. I deliberately set the sheet with the Read Only parameter in File Properties to stop you from accidentally saving your character on top of the blank file. 8)

It should then simply be a case of opening each character file once you've saved them under different names. ;)

I just noticed that when making a Warrior, the Armor Training talent doesn't automatically update if you try to get the next degree. I had to use 2 drop downs in the Talent section of the Workspace to force it.

Huh...good catch. I thought I had that one sorted.

Fixed for next version, which will be released...not too long after I get my mitts on Box Set 2. I've pre-ordered it, just waiting for it to get here. :-/

Kewls. :) I have to say that I love your sheets!!! I even copied the Spell/Talent/Specialization sheets just to use as a GM ref! And the set 2 boxed set is soooo much better than the pdf. It smells of dragons and PC death. XD

Oh, I found something else. When I was making a level 10 Anders (based on this http://www.greenronin.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=9169), I ran into an issue. After I gave him Spirit Healer Mastery, Creation (Journeyman), and Spirit (Journeyman), the sheet calculated the 3 free spells earned by the specialization into my normal spell maximum. Umm...that was confusing. Here:

Level 1 - 3 spells
1 spell per every even level up to level 10 - 5 spells
1 Creation spell (Journeyman)
1 Spirit spell (Journeyman)
1 spell per every specialization upgrade - 3 spells

3 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 3 = 13 spells

But the sheet doesn't seem to see the specialization spells as free so it says 10 and has already selected the three spells for the specialization, so I can only choose 7 without getting "Too Many Spells". Maybe treat the Specialization spells like you do for Talent bonus spells?

Sorry about the confusion. Please ask if you need clarification.

No, that's a fair call...I'll have a look, figure it out, and fix it.

I know the Spirit Healer spec grants a specific spell at each level (of the spec) taken, so it should assign the spells automatically...maybe I was having trouble working out which way to do it when I started coding tha part. >.>

Thanks for catching me on it. :)

Heh...the problem was not that the bonus spells from the specialisation weren't being added; it was that they weren't being taken into account when determing total number of spells available to the character. This is now fixed.

I was going to hold off on releasing a new version until I had my own copy of Box Set 2, but given that I have no idea when it's going to arrive (probably tomorrow, now that I've done this >.> )...

I've updated the link in the first post for version 1.25.

This version has a few bugfixes in it, as well as a few enhancements & changes to the appearance of the printed character sheets. Hopefully I didn't break anything when fixing these latest bugs - I don't think I did.

Enjoy...and my thanks to you all for downloading and enjoying it. :)
