ChupacabraCon

Chupacabracon is the premiere desktop role playing and board game convention in the greater Austin area. Held at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel & Conference Center in Round Rock, Texas, Just North of Austin, proper. The convention is the primary fund raising event for Austin Creative Pathways. Our goal is to foster youth into creative careers through gaming.

Chupacabracon is a small event, pulling visitors from around the country. We are known for having an unusually high number of professional guests for an event at our size. We are routinely hosting 25 to 30 industry guests; writers of many of the top RPGs. Being a small event of no more than 500 attendees, this is a unique opportunity to meet the writers, many of whom run their games at Chupacabracon.

We also host many special events. D&D Adventure League and Pathfinder Society regularly host unique, special events at our little convention. We have also hosted Savage Saturday Nights every year from our inception. This is an evening of games run by the authors of Deadlands, East Texas University, Savage Rifts, and many other Savage Worlds settings. We hold an interactive celebrity game, where audience members can pledge to the charity for the opportunity to shape the story, make the rolls for the celebrity players, and otherwise make their session more interesting.

We have been told, from attendees and industry guests both, that Chupacabracon is their favorite event of the year. Come join our family of gamers at our next event.

To promote science fiction, fantasy, and science through the written word, art, and educational programs, such as the holding of a yearly convention where the public is provided with the opportunity to hear noted writers, scientists, and educators speak on various aspects of the fields of science fiction, fantasy and science and to participate in discussions, displays, and lectures involving these fields.

Norwescon believes that its mission is to provide to the public the opportunity to be educated on the latest trends in science fiction, fantasy, and science, as science fiction in many cases becomes the science of the future.

OrcaCon

OrcaCon is a tabletop games convention, which includes board and card games, role-playing games, and miniature games. OrcaCon is focused on creating a safe and welcoming space for promoting the tabletop games hobby, supporting diversity in tabletop games, and building a community of both novice and experience game players.

OrcaCon is excited to offer a wide variety of panels and workshops. We have a great line up of Guests of Honor and Special Guests, and we are looking for more folks to talk about their gaming passions. We’re looking for game industry professionals, community leaders, and other smart folks who love to talk about games.

In particular, we’re interested in talks and workshops about the game industry, inclusive design, game development, and more. We have limited space so the process can be very competitive. We’re always looking for a good balance of skills and specialties, and therefore might turn down impressively qualified people if their skill set overlaps too much with other people we’ve already invited.
